The International Conference on Yue Dialects is an important academic event in the field of Chinese linguistics. Since its inception, it has been held in Hong Kong, Macao, Guangdong and other places in turn with the purpose of uniting academic strength and prospering Cantonese studies. So far, it has been held for 25 times. The 26th International Conference on Yue Dialects will be held online from November 26 to 27, 2022. The conference is sponsored by the Institute of Chinese Dialects at Jinan University. The Theme of the Conference: Digital Humanities and Cantonese Studies
The theme focuses on the development of digital humanities and the language use in the new era, under which new directions and new topics of Cantonese studies will be explored in many aspects such as Cantonese phonetics, phonology, semantics, syntax, and pragmatics. Experts and scholars working in Cantonese studies are sincerely invited to submit a paper and present it at the online conference and to exchange ideas on the current issues of Cantonese linguistic. Deadline for the Abstract Submission: October 9, 2022 Procedures for Submitting an Abstract: 1. Log on to the website of the Encyclopedia of Chinese Dialects (in Chinese only) - www.fangyanxue.com, click the link to "International Conference on Yue Dialects" - "Paper submission", and upload the abstract of the paper according to the instructions illustrated on the website. 2. Send the abstract by email to chinesedialects@126.com. To ensure the successful submission of the abstract, both the above two methods should be done.
